October 2011 Eroge Releases

So, at the measly amount of 13 15 titles which aren’t blatently nukige, Ocotber is the quietest month there has been in quite a long time, however there really is something for everyone this month. I would say Hare Tokidoki o Tenkiame and Kimi ga Ita Kisetsu have the best story potential since they’re both from experienced scenario writers. Midori no Umi and Shinsei ni Shite Okasubekarazu have both gotten mixed reviews on their trials but both do also have some potential. Izuna Zanshinken will satisfy those who like darker stories, plus Master x Re: Master and Trample on “Schatten!!” ~Kagefumi no Uta~ Revolution+ are for people who like action stories.Yumemiru Tsuki no Lunalutia also has some interesting gameplay for fans of that. Koiiro Soramoyou: After Happiness and Extra Heart’s & World Wide Love! -Sekai Seifuku Kanojo Fandisc- are the two fandiscs this month, Ren’ai 0 Kilometer, Houkago KitchenMistake x Miscast and Walkure Romanze ~Shoujo Kishi Monogatari~ are all the chara-ge for this month. Nekoguri. ~Nekura to Koi no Grimoire~ is a must play for people looking for something a little denpa or a magical love comedy. Last, and most likely least,Taisetsu na Kimi no Tame ni, Boku ni Dekiru Ichiban no Koto could be a landmine.

Nekoguri. ~Nekura to Koi no Grimoire~

Release Date: 21st October

Producing Company: Frantic LABO

Official website

Our protagonist manage to get on the wrong side of transfer student Misa – a girl who is scared of ghosts but practices black magic. Due to this, she ends up cursing him so that he can never leave the school grounds again! The only way tobreak the curse is to find the magic book that’s located somewhere in the school. However, the school turns into a twisted theme park at night! Will he manage to find the book and return to normal?

This is the first game from Frantic LABO and seems pretty crazy, the scenario writer also wrote Princess Party so maybe that explains why xD I’m not interested in this but i’d recommend it if your a fan of magical romance comedies. The opening is pretty denpa too.

Hare Tokidoki o Tenkiame

Release Date: 28th October 25th November

Producing Company: Palette

Official Website

Our protagonist Yuuya lives in a town where Gods visit, however, these gods don’t look too different from normal humans but they have the power to exterminate ghosts. There are also rumors that these gods have the powers to make wishes come true if asked. Yuuya is also a member of the student council so he had to attend the welcoming ceremony for the new god who would arrive in the village by train. However, instead of coming by train, Kanae actually fell from the sky, right on top of Yuuya, resulting in her showing him her underwear.  Kanae is a very clumsy god, and Yuuya can’t help thinking to himself “How will i be able to get my wish granted”…

This is the newest work from the eroge “dream team” consisting of Kusu Kusu (artwork) and NYAON (scenario) who have worked on well received games such as Sakura Strasse and Moshimo Ashita ga Harenaraba, so i think it’s safe to say that the story and artwork in this game will be well above average. Personally, i’m pretty excited for this game, since the premise sounds quite interesting (i wonder what the protagonist’s wish is) and the characters are cute. This should be a good pick up if you’re looking for a good story. The opening song by White Lips is really nice and relaxing too.

Houkago Kitchen

Release Date: 28th October 25th November

Producing Company: Atu Works

Official website

Thecooking club in Yoruhiko’s school consists of 4 members – his childhood friend Yuna, the only child of a famous chef Ringo, a cherful kouhai who loves sweets Maya and head of the club Suzuno. However, the club is very close to closing due to the lack of members. Yoruhiko decides to enter because he loves food and enjoys having cute girls cook for him every day. In a desperate bid to save the club they’re allowed to have their own stall during the school festival to show off their cooking abilities, will their play to save the club work?

Normally, i’d be all over this kind of story, especially since the cooking club is something i’ve never seen done in an eroge before. However, there’s just so many better titles out this month. I also think this will be delayed since there’s not even any sample cgs yet. One scenario writer is new and the other has worked all of Atu Works’ other games. I’m a fan of Atu Works’ moe artwork style too. Definitely play this if you’re a fan of “saving the club” or food-related (and perhaps cafe related) games. There’s no opening movie either.

Izuna Zanshinken

Release Date: 28th October

Producing Company: Akatsuki Works Black

Official website (blocked outside japan)

At the start of the 21st century, all the world leaders decided to abolish capital punishment because of human rights activists. However, this has caused a lot more murders and other bad crimes to become increasingly common, leaving a number of bereaved families both upset and angry due to the lack of justice. With all the cities in complete chaos, some people started to take it upon themselves to work as or employ hunters to track down these criminals and punish them. The hunters work outside whatever law was left and act just as brutally as the people they are hunting down. Tonight, as with every night, the job of the hunters continues…

To be honest, i had absolutely no interest in this game what so ever until i bothered to read the description, especially because it’s not the kind of thing i would normally go for but it actually sounds really interesting, especially with the collapse of order showing the darker side of human nature, and i really want to see how this game plays out and there could be something interesting in the protagonist’s reason for becoming one of these hunters as well. The scenario writer has only worked on LovelyxCation before, which was a real success so it will be interesting to see how he manages to write a darker story. If you’re a fan of action or darker games then this should be something that you should consider trying out. The opening song is really good too, and the movie itself is quite impressive.

Kimi ga Ita Kisetsu

Release Date: 28th October

Producing Company: Age

Official Website

Masaki has 4 childhoon friends – Yayoi, Michiru, Maria and Akira who are all sisters, they let him stay in one of their family’s apartments since he doesn’t live with his family. Masaki’s hobby is photography and one day, he meets a famous photographer who lets Masaki become his apprentice. Time passes, and Masaki also gets a girlfriend too and life couldn’t be any happier for him. However, one day he is asked to go to America to work in the huge photography business over there but he thinks that having a long distance relationship would be incredibly hard. He now has a life-changing decision to make – does he follow his dream or does he stay with the person who he loves most in this world?

This is a remake of the original which was released in 1999 and features new graphics and voices. The plot sounds very dramatic and pretty interesting although it’s not my cup of tea. The scenario writer also worked on other age titles (including Muv Luv Alternative which is apparently one of the best VNs ever released) so the story should be pretty good. There’s no opening movie yet, so i’ve included the PV instead.

Koiiro Soramoyou: After Happiness and Extra Heart’s

Release Date: 28th October

Producing Company: Studio Ryokucha

Official website

This is the fandisc to the original Koiiro Sora Maryou and takes place after the school was saved in the original game, when everyone is preparing for the upcoming school festival. The game will feature after stories for all 5 main heroines and the 4 female sub-characters in the original will get routes. There will also be lots of ecchi cgs.

I’ve not played the original (even though i want to) so i won’t be playing this. If you played the original and liked it, then definitely pick this up too. The artwork is still really cute. There’s no opening movie so i’ve included the PV instead – i really like the song used.

Master x Re: Master

Release Date: 28th October

Producing Company: Silver Bullet Automatic

Official website

Kyuu and Nanami are childhood friends and they’re both members of the occult club in school, although Nanami is more interested in it than Kyuu. On day, the club’s chairman Saeko tells them that there’s a really good second-hand shop which might have some occult items in it. The visit the shop and Nanami ends up buying a book called “Grimorium Verum” which apparently allows the reader to summon Satan. On the night of the full moon, Nanami tries to perform the ceremony to call the devil and she actually manages it. The figure that appears calls itself Mephistopheles and says that in exchange for Nanami’s soul, he will give her great power. Kyuu tries to protect Nanami and obstructs the ceremony, however, he is thrown onto the ground and Mephistopheles announces that his contract is complete and that both Nanami and Kyuu are now “contractors” but they have to fight together.

After this event, the pair start to notice strange things arround them – gunfire with no bullets, mysterious mass suicides and multiple bomb scares. They then become aware that these are in fact other contractors wielding their “Revelations” which Satan bestowed upon them. It turns out that all the contractors fight against each other to determine who’s the strongest. Now, a new life starts for Nanami and Kyuu. Will they be able to go back to their old, peaceful life or is the only road ahead filled with fighting and bloodshed?

This is another darker themed game, although it seems more action based. There seem to be a lot of magic books around lately too. This does sound pretty interesting actually, although the scenario writer is brand new so it may be pretty risky to play this. Silver Bullet aren’t exactly known for their amazing eroge either. I would say pick this up if you’re willing to give the scenario writer a chance and you really like action eroge. The opening song is pretty nice too but i can’t find a video of it anywhere since there’s no opening movie yet, but you can download the op song on the official website.

Midori no Umi

Release Date: 28th October

Producing Company: Cabbit (sister company of SkyFish)

Official website

Beside a lake in the middle of a forest, there’s a huge european mansion where 12 people live. In this mansion there are many books in the library, many instruments in the music room, and overall it’s a very comfortable place to live. However, all the people in this house have lost their memories. No one is allowed out of the grounds since they’ll get lost in the dark sea of trees. If you leave then it’s unlikely that you’ll come back. She calls this beautiful place “paradise”. A boy recently went missing, and the protagonist’s memories are slowly returning to him. He starts to wonder “Why am i here?” and he wants to know the truth, but he is advised against it. If he does find out, what will happen to him? In this place, happiness is guaranteed as long as you don’t question it, however what will happen if you want to leave?

The story for this game sounds really vague actually but it also sounds pretty interesting. The scenario writer worked on Harutoma 2 which was apparently a pretty good game, but lots of writers worked on that so the story again, could be hit or miss. The trial has also gotten some mixed reviews, but then again, the story could pick up after the trial. The artwork is very nice in this game, and the character designs are pretty nice (twins Sorane and Rikuno are so cute!). The opening song is stunning and the opening movie is also really well done plus it really adds to the mysterious tone. I would say that you should consider picking this up if you’re looking for a game with a mysterious feel.

Mistake x Miscast

Release Date: 28th October

Producing Company: Migonne

Official Website

Every once in a while, Itsuki had dreams about a girl named Suou-hime who was a lover of his in a past life. One morning in school, a transfer student called Rin was put into Itsuki’s class. She looked exactly like Suou-hime so Itsuki ran up to Rin and hugged her as he was really glad to see her again. However, Rin had no idea who Itsuki was so she was really embarrassed and said”W-why are you hugging me?!”. Itsuki was sad to see that boy-ish Rin was nothing like the cute Suou-hime. Is it just a coincidence or is Rin really the re-incarnation of Suou-hime, and if so, will she ever recognise Itsuki?

This game is the debut from Migonne and I would say that this game actually looks pretty cute and so is a good starting game. The characters are all cute too but there’s just so many better titles out this month.

Ren’ai 0 Kilometer

Release Date: 28th October

Producing Company: ASa Project

Official website

In one house, there’s the Kinomoto family which consists of a mother and her 5 daughters who are always wishing for a brother. Next door is the Yazaki family made up of a father and his 4 sons who have always wanted a girl in the family. The two parents then come up with a great idea and decide to swap one child each for 3 months! The boy chosen to go into the Kinomoto family is the protagonist and the first challenge he faces is getting all the girls to call him “Onii-chan”. The protagonist’s new family life starts now!

This is October’s only moe-ge, and even though the plot is pretty ridiculous, i will be playing this since i love winter scenes in eroge, the artwork is cute, and the characters are all even cuter! On scenario writer is new, one has worked on a nuki-ge before and the other has worked on all of ASa Projects other games, so if you liked them then this is the game for you in october. I must also point out the really nice style of the SD cgs too. Plus, one of the protagonist’s little brothers (Honda) is voiced by Sakakibara Yui, how cute xD If you’re a fan of chara-ge or you like the character designs or artwork then this should be a definite pick up for you. The opening song is also really catchy, although it’s sung by the little brother when you think about it o.o

Shinsei ni Shite Okasubekarazu

Release Date: 28th October

Producing Company: Pulltop

Official website

On the edge of a metropolitan city, exists a castle which is surrounded by a high wall and is also the kingdom that Ruha rules over.Including herself, there are 3 people who live in this kingdom, the other 2 being class chairman Miori and protagonist Hayato.  Hayato works as a butler and also as a chef – he prepares meals, does the washing, works on the garden and also goes to school as Ruha’s attendant. He thought that his normal life would never change, but he was wrong. This is a tale about the smallest country in the world, and it starts now.

I’ve been anticipating this title ever since it was announced – the whole kingdom in a city is pretty odd but could make for an interesting game. Not to mention that the art is pretty and that Ruha is cute. One scenario writer has worked on other pulltop games, as well as Taiyou no Promia and Twinkle Crusaders but the other hasn’t worked on anything. Again, the trial for this game has been receiving mixed reviews. I have faith in this game though, especially since pulltop have a good track record and this is their 10th anniversary title ao i don’t think they’d make it awful. I would recommend this game if you have played other pulltop games especially. The opening song is really relaxing~

Taisetsu na Kimi no Tame ni, Boku ni Dekiru Ichiban no Koto

Release Date: 28th October

Producing Company: Dandelion

Official website

I want to cry in this gentle yet cruel world. But i must say “goodbye”, until we meet again…

After being hospitalised after an accident, the protagonist goes back to school after a year. Even though he’s a year older than everyone in his class, he fits in well and has a peaceful school life. In June, the school holds a festival to celebrate the birthday of John the Baptist (St John) since he is the patron saint of the school. During this time, the protagonist hears about the “6 secrets of the school”, and one of them is that, during the ongoing celebrations, every evening during sunset a beautiful old school-house appears beside the lake near the school. The protagonist is curious and on that day during sunset, beside the old schoolhouse, he meets “her” again.

Interesting plot, right? Well, i wouldn’t hold out for much in the way of a great plotline since the scenario writer has worked on some pretty below average games, such as relations sisterxsister and Alice Parade. That’s one incredibly long title – although i think the shortened version is taikimi although taikoto sounds better. The trial for this game is alright, but i can’t shake the feeling that this is a landmine. The art looks pretty weird too. I would say pick this up (cautiously) if you like games involving death and incest (maybe).

Trample on “Schatten!!” ~Kagefumi no Uta~ Revolution+

Release Date: 28th October

Producing Company: NONSUGAR

Official website

This is essentially the same as the original Trample on Schatten but it contains a bonus disc which contains some extra scenarios. The game starts off with our protagonist Aisaku hearing a girl shout “Catch me!”, looking up, he notices a girl falling from the roof of a skyscraper near him, and when he catches her, he notices that a mysterious creature called Schatten also falls down and starts attacking the pair. Aisaku is scared but the strange girl, uses his shadow to transform herself into a warrior and defeats this shadow monster. Like this, Aisaku’s life of fighting these shadow creatures starts now…

So, this is really a way to try and get some money without really putting much effort in. I’d rather wait for November though, to play NONSUGAR’s title Legend Seven (since the digest trial was awesome).

Walkure Romanze ~Shoujo Kishi Monogatari~

Release Date: 28th October

Producing Company: Ricotta

Official website

Our protagonist Takahiro attends a prestigious school where the main sport is jousting, and he’s one of the coaches for the sport. In his childhood, he was a world-class jouster but he injured himself while he was in a big competition and ended up having to retire from the sport – something which he has bitter memories about. Every year, there’s a really big jousting competition in the school and Takahiro is now on the lookout for a very strong partner who he’ll train up so that she can hopefully win. Now, as the competition approaches, will he be able to get a partner?

Jousting is pretty original, and it gives off quite a classy and knight-like idea. However, there’s not really much room for development here since Takahiro is just going to train his partner and then they’ll fall in love so i suspect it will be the same system used throughout the routes. Although, there is some hope for this game as one scenario writer has worked on games such as Tenshin Ranman, Noble Works, Mashifoni and Asukimi which are all regarded as above average. I’m going to pass this, until i play the trial (when it comes out) since it might be surprising. I’m also not too keen on the knight uniforms. Definitely play this game if you enjoyed Princess Lover (since it sounds similar but with knights) or if you like strong women. Think of this as a more fluffy version of Koikishi Purely Kiss. The opening song is very nice though.

World Wide Love! -Sekai Seifuku Kanojo Fandisc-

Release Date: 28th October

Producing Company: Navel

Official website

This is the fandisc to the Navels’ 2010 title Sekai Seifuku Kanojo. This game will contain after stories for all 5 original heroines and will include a route for Yoshiko who was a sub-character in the original game.

This is another fandisc to a game i haven’t got around to playing yet. Obviously, you should play this if you liked the original game.I’ve always liked Nishimata Aoi’s character designs even if her art isn’t the best. It’s nice to see Yuria singing another eroge opening song, but i’m afraid this isn’t one of her best.

Yumemiru Tsuki no Lunalutia

Release Date: 28th October

Producing Company: Arianrhod

Official website

In a distant, strange future scientists have discovered air on the moon and people have started to develop magic powers. The protagonist goes to the moon to become an alchemist. His little sister Satsuki (who’s a magical girl) and his classmates Asuka (swordswoman) and Enora (shaman) help him to achieve his alchemy dream. However, the protagonist is finding it hard to get used to life on the moon, even though he’s studying hard at his alchemy but he get’s distracted by the girl’s being all deredere over him. This is a story about life on the moon filled with adventure and mystery, and it starts now…

I’m going to mention now that this is written by the same person who wrote the popular light novel series Zero no Tsukaima, which is also set in a magic school, so the story does have some potential. This game is also a RPG which involves card battles against monsters and using alchemy to create new items. This sounds pretty interesting but i don’t tihnk i’ll have time for it though. The artwork is done by the same person who did Hatsukoi Time Capsule and it looks like he’s improved quite a bit too. Bunnygirls Lunar and Lavi are especially cute too. I would recommend this if you’re a fan of magical girls or  RPG eroge and you enjoyed the alchemy system from “Kamidori Alchemy Meister” since this sounds like a simpler version of that, also pick this up if you enjoyed Zero no Tsukaima since it’s also set in a magical school.

My Picks

1. Hare Tokidoki o Tenkiame
2. Ren’ai 0 Kilometer
3. Midori no Umi
4. Shinsei ni Shite Okasubekarazu
5. Izuna Zanshinken
6. Master x Re: Master
7. Walkure Romanze ~Shoujo Kishi Monogatari~

So, i’m playing half the titles this month (xD), and i hope that everyone else manages to find at least 1 title to play, since most of the games this month are interesting to say the least. Unfortunately, there’s no Yuri, Trap, Yaoi or Otome games coming out this month on the PC which is a bit of a shame also.

Anyways, sorry this is really early but i had some spare time and decided to just do this now. If there’s been any delays for September or any movies added in then i’ll ammend the post.

23/9/11 EDIT1: Added 3 titles. I completely forgot about Nekoguri and Houkago Kitchen (although i don’t think this will be released) and  Mistake x Miscast was delayed from Sept.

  1. Renai 0 kilometre at number 2?

May I ask how did you choose that game to be in your list? I’d play a comedy eroge with a generic premise like that anyday, but NoT with those character designs! Those oppai drawings are soooo unnatural! I’d play Walkure first, at least.

Apart from hareten, probably only Pulltop game interests me (because of writer), although the demo was a bit boring.

    • I actually like the character designs, though i will admit that Mayo’s oppai are especially huge (although, they’re not as bad as some of Clochette’s latest games in particular). I also like the family theme of the game even if the set up does seem pretty stupid, plus most of the character personalities appeal to me. I would have put Walkure Romance up higher on my priotities list if it wasn’t for those knight costumes – they look pretty ridiculous!
Yeah, the writer for that game has definitely worked on some good games before. I haven’t finished the demo yet, but i do agree with you. Hopefully, the story will pick up though ^^

  2. Pingback: Join the Sucre train! | Visual Novel Aer

  3. Pingback: Verbal Rubbish » Blog Archive » Upcoming October Titles

  4. It’ll be Hare Tokidoki o Tenkiame since it seems to be the most hyped game of the month, Shinsei ni Shite Okasubekarazu with such a ridiculous plot, Ren’ai 0 Kilometer just for them to call me onii-chan, and Koisora FD for Sera and Mikoto.

  5. Hello, stumbled upon this post and wow, quite awesome and refreshing to see monthly release posts from other than Hau Omochikaeri.

This month looks extremely fruitful, not only does it have a variety to suit everyone’s taste, but also alot of the releases seem to be from “newer” companies. Other than the more action themed titles, I’ve been particularly interested in Midori no Umi ever since the PV for it. Mysterious feel indeed.

    Great work, thanks!

    • Gosh, i completely forgot about halloween! That’s the most reasonable explanation, and i just notced that there really is a lot of magic titles this month.
Well, i thought there were too many random H-scenes in it so i didn’t enjoy the plot very much although some parts were pretty good.
