About the Blog

Well, i made this blog in April 2011 as a sucessor to my attempt at a livejournal blog, the site was set up primarily for eroge reviews, news and previews but I’ve now started doing monthly releases posts. Currently, I’ve written quite a few reviews so far but my goal is to write 50 by the time this blog becomes a year old.

I will only write subjective reviews since I like giving my opinion and I find it quite hard to be objective about games since there’s a lot of aspects that are down to personal preference (artwork, character design, writing style, system, music, voices, ect…) so if you don’t like that then this isn’t a blog that you should really read. I also like to score things but my scores usually go by how much i enjoyed that particular aspect of the visual novel. I do tend to be a tad biased though and i usually either adore a game and overlook small negatives or really hate a game and nitpick out everything wrong.

About the Author

I’m Liemyx (as you may have been able to tell) and I’m pretty new-ish to the eroge scene actually, and I’ve only been consistently playing for just over a year, although i did play some VNs before that. My first games were Nursery Rhyme, Shuffle and Da Capo so I’m pretty biased towards romantic comedies with nice artwork. Most of the games I love tend to include elements of Pure Love, Comedy, Fantasy (including magic), Childhood Promises and Slice Of Life. As with a lot of other bloggers, i look more at character development rather than story for a game. However, i do like a lot of icha icha in my eroge!

I do also play all-ages VNs though since they can be just as enjoyable. I play both Otome Games and Bishoujo Games quite regularly and have tried out a Trap/BL game but would like to play more before i make my mind up about the genre.I have played a few (aka 2) Yuri games (both from the SonoHana series), if all Yuri games are like that then i need to go and play more!!

My Favourite Character Types: tsundere, genki, osananajimi, ojousama, kuudere, deredere, rori, pettanko, imouto and meido

Favourite Character accessories: ribbons, berets, twintails, shimapan, thigh socks and pretty hair accessories

Favourite Companies: CUFFS, QuinRose, Lump Of Sugar, Palette, Unionshift, Navel, Honeybee, IcingCandy, Little witch and Hook Soft.

Favourite VNs: Rondo Leaflet, CAFE SOURIRE

Favourite Animes: Puella Magi Madoka Magika, AIR, Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu

My goal for last year was to play at least one VN from each release month (since I’ve never managed this before):

  • January [x] (Gokudou no Hanayome)
  • February [x] (Flyable CandyHeart)
  • March [x] (Hatsukoi Time Capsule)
  • April [x] (Relations~sister x sister~, Starry Sky~After Summer~, Vanitas no Hitsuji)
  • May [x] (Otome Kairo)
  • June [x] (Josou San-myaku, Natsuyuki~Summer Snow~, Cafe Sourire, LovelyxCation)
  • July [x] (YomeHapi~You Make Happy~)
  • August [x] (Gakuen Tokkyu Hotokenser, Starry Sky~After Autumn~)
  • September[x] (SuGirly Wish, Your DIary)
  • October [x] (Renai 0 Kilometer, Shinsei ni Shite Okasubekarazu)
  • November [x] (Poco A Poco)
  • December [x] (Seifuku Tenshi)

Mission Complete!!! (Now, i wonder if i can do this for 2012 xD)

  1. Saw your review of Gokudou no Hanayome. Loved Fran the most, but was facepalming a lot during Amelia’s route. If you like ,would you care to chat over MSN?

  2. It’s nice to see someone else who has played the game 🙂
I agree that Fran was a pretty awesome character, although all the characters were pretty likable (in my opinion). I also really couldn’t tell wether Amelia’s route was meant to be a troll by Galactica or if the writer was just on some kind of substance when he wrote it xD Whenever you thought that it couldn’t get any worse, it did.
Yeah, i’d love to chat over MSN – it’s always great to meet other VN fans!

  3. I’m so thankful for this blog. I love VNs too but I will most likely never be able to play the ones I like due to living no where near Japan, having no money and not knowing Japanese… It’s great that you can share all the stories and art with people like me! 😀
I was wondering, how DO you get your games (they’re so expensive to import! and so many of them need a Japanese computer to run) and how long have you studied Japanese?

    • Aww, that’s a real shame that you can’t play any 😦 Perhaps you could try some of the newer games being officially released in english – they seem to be relatively cheap compared to their Japanese counterparts.
I either import my games or buy the official download editions (which are usually cheaper plus there’s no postage), before i was a VN fan, i was one of these people that saved almost all the money i got so i’m lucky enough to be able to afford them now. Most VNs run as long as you set a couple of the settings on your computer to Japanese (which you hardly notice otherwise) although if that doesn’t work, there’s always patches uploaded online for the games to work. I’ve only been studying Japanese for a couple of years but i watched subbed anime for a couple of years before that (to pick up on some spoken pronounciations) so not that long compared to most other people. ^^

  4. Good thing that you bought your games, most people don’t..
and guess where they get it..

    @lepetitefaw
You can play Visual anywhere any place on earth, as long you have the right (Japanese) locale setting + patches in case you’re being blocked.

I have played most english translated eroge.
The original are quite difficult to follow…
I do understand most of the dialogue, but not kanji on the screen, as protagonist usually un-voiced…

…tho am still waiting, hoping to get into a course in japanese in a few year, if am lucky i may get in lollol

Anyway nice blog, love your reviews, keep it up!! ^_^

  5. Nice blog, although I need couple of weeks to read everything 🙂
I have one question, Got any suggestions for the games in English language?
I like this games since I played Snow Sakura so you know, I try to find something new and nice 🙂

    • Thanks ^^

As for english games, i haven’t played too many – Shuffle was a cute game. Quartett (japanese game but there’s an english patch) is a really great game too.
Also, welcome to the wonderful world of eroge!

      • Thanks for answering, I’ll try Shuffle, Quartett doesn’t seem great for now. I will leave it for later 🙂

Till the next comment and have a nice day.

  6. Hi Liemyx, I had informed the group and everyone is happy that you agree to join us. One guy had set out to extract the script. Since the engine of SH10 is different than the previous ones, he need sometime to figure out how to do that. I’ll inform you when the script are ready.

In the mean time, enjoy the games!

  7. Unkind (the other translator) told me that he also leans on completing 8 first, now that you agreed as well then then I’ll set up the project. He’s always on mIRC in #yuriproject channel, so you can contact him there.

  8. A Baka to Test fan? I’m already sold!

Seriously though, while review sites are generally a dime-a-dozen, you do offer that extra bit of special something that makes your reviews worth reading, and more importantly worthwhile for hunting down. Keep up that great work!
